Our Automoblox A9S Convertible White is a terrific Automoblox wooden car. The 2009 A9-S brings a more sophisticated design aesthetic to the Automoblox line-up with its compact proportions, speedster styled canopy, and seating for two. Deeply sculpted lower driving lights differentiate the body from the standard A9, as does the clearly marked “A9-S” on the main and rear body blocks. A subtle, low-profile, integrated rear wing enhances the distinctive and clear body lines. The rich German beech wood and bright white molded parts are combined with contrasting high gloss black wheels to make the already retro-chic Automoblox look decidedly upscale.

Automoblox Cars - Wooden Design Inspired Automoblox Construction Vehicles

Automoblox is a great collection of educational wooden construction car toys. Designed by Patrick Calello and produced by Automoblox Company in the US. The Automoblox range of toys consists of wooden car body sections with patented plastic interconnects, polycarbonate wheels and rubber tyres, plastic passengers and polycarbonate screens. Each car can be disassembled into its component parts and re-assembled, parts from different cars can be combined to allow children to design their own models.

Originally developed in 2003 the wood used in the Automoblox range was Canadian Maple, for the 2005 range the wood was changed to European Birch.

Automoblox cars encourage open ended play and incorporate educational features to develop key learning skills in younger children and have won several toy awards.

Automoblox Educational Features

Automoblox cars are designed to encourage children to disassemble and reassemble them which helps develop fine motor skills. The patented body connectors have different shapes for each model and the passengers in each car have specifically shaped bases which lock into matching sockets in the car to encourage shape recognition and matching. The colour coding of each car encourages colour recognition and matching. The ability to combine parts from different cars encourages goal oriented play and open ended problem solving.
